Food

The Update and Temp buttons are used to update your cook with what you are doing.

Use Update to add general updates to the cook such as when you change the temp of your cooker, adjust your food (such as spritzing), or other changes.

Use Temp to enter the current temperature of your cooker(s) and food(s). When you add these temperatures, temperature graphs are drawn to show the temp changes throughout the duration of the cook.

Ending Your Cook

When you have finished cooking, be sure to click the End Cook button in the sidebar to complete the cook. This will then enable you to rate the food items and generate your cook score.

Every cook needs to have at least one cooker added, and then you can add one or more items of food to each cooker.

Adding a Cooker

You can add a cooker to your cook by clicking the Cooker button. You can add multiple cookers to the same cook.

Adding Food to a Cooker

When you have added a cooker you can add food items to it by clicking the Food button.

On the left side of each food item there is a icon. Click this to edit the details of each food item such as the rub, sauce, marinate, brine, rest time etc.

Cooking The Food

When you have added an item and are ready to cook it, click the Start Cooking button to start the cooking time clock ticking.. Click the Stop Cooking button to stop cooking.

Adding Photos

To add photos of an item (such as the finished product), click the button for each food item to add a photo to it. You can add mutliple photos for each item.

The Cook Log is where you add details of what you do throughout the cook. This can include things such as temperature adjustments, spritzing, adding moisture, or anything else.

Whenever you do something to your cook, add an update by clicking the Update Your Cook button.

When you add an update you can also set the Feeling. This provides a handy way of giving a general idea of how confident you were feeling in the cook at that point.

Adding Photos

Adding photos to your updates provides a great way to show the evolution of your food in the cook.

To add photos, click the button next to the update you want to add the photo to. You can add mutliple photos for each update.

The Cook Details is where you add details of what you do throughout the cook. This can include things such as temperature adjustments, spritzing, adding moisture, or anything else.

Whenever you do something to your cook, add an update by clicking the Update Your Cook button.

The cook score on BBQpad cooks provides an overall rating of a food item as well as the full cook based upon taste, tenderness, and appearance. The rating is based on the same formula used at professional KCBS competition events.

The score is between 0 and 180 and is based upon the ratings you provide when the cook has been completed.

One caveat to note is that the cook score is dependent on the pitmaster being honest when rating their food. If the pitmaster is honest, the cook score provides a great way to determine the quality of an overall cook and compare cooks to see if progress is being made.

Now click the Update Your Cook button on your cook page to add details about what you did in your cook such as how long you cooked your food for, different cooking techniques, and problems with the cook, and other details.

When your cook changes, just click the blue button to log it!

Now click the Update Your Cook button on your cook page to add cook updates such as when items are added/removed from the cooker, pit/food temperatures, general cook updates, and photos.
